3 things for winter

1 // My toes have been tingling for a pair of Sorels for a couple of years now, but with our relatively mild winters it was hard to justify the spend. These were an early birthday present from the husband in preparation for an upcoming to trip to Calgary where their price tag is sure to be justified.

2 // Chapped cheeks are an unfortunate seasonal hazard for our little guy. I love the mini stick format of this baby cheek and lip balm from Matter Company – not only is it super easy to apply on a wiggly babe, you can do it without taking off your mittens. It’s all-natural, Canadian-made (so you know it can handle our dry air and extreme indoor heating), and (as if babies don’t smell delicious enough) smells like honey. It’s also worked wonders on my dry and cracked hands.

3 // The best souvenir from a trip to Ireland a few years ago was a classic wool blanket from Avoca. Wool generally means itch, but it’s softened up considerably and is a mainstay on our couch. There’s nothing like it for tucking in on the most blustery of January (or February, or March) days.

My sorels are possibly my favourite winter thing ever, but I do live in Alberta, haha. I love how invincible they make me feel against our winters ;)

Yay! I knew they’d be a wise decision for our trip, but it’s nice to have a true Albertan confirm it! :)
