new chick on the block

Of the cooler things that have happened to me in the past couple of months: finally being able to commute by bike, discovering a slew of new beauty loves, and being asked to contribute to ChickAdvisor.

Well, technically, anyone can contribute to ChickAdvisor – the social review site created by digital wunderkind (and all around cool chick) Ali de Bold. I got to know ChickAdvisor a few years ago through their super fun series of Shop Crawls, and I got to know Ali in my previous day job.

Okay, full disclosure: I kind of cyber-stalked her for a while. Not in the creepy way, but in the “some day I hope to know this chick”/girl-crush kind of way. Hmm. Maybe that is a little creepy.

I continue to be inspired by her vision and entrepreneurial spirit, and the incredible community she’s helped to grow as Chief Chick-in-Charge (Best. Title. Ever). She’s also assembled some of the best Canadian independent lifestyle blogs – like BeautyGeeks, BeautyEditor.ca, Gifted, Sweet Potato Chronicles and At Home with Kim Vallée  – under the Style Collective umbrella. Now you see why I was so ridiculously flattered when she asked me to contribute to the ChickAdvisor blog, right?

For those of you who are unacquainted: the ChickAdvisor blog should be a daily must-read (seriously, add it your RSS feeds already!). You’ll find posts on everything from relationships and fashion trends to gift guides and recipes – plus amazing contests, and opportunities to sample and review new products.

And now you can find me there every week, too. My first ChickAdvisor post was published today (squee!), and highlights some amazing DIY braid styles and tutorials. Hop on over and have a read (and don’t forget to become a ChickAdvisor member if you’re not already!).

Hurray for you! Who woulda thought a few years ago when we were doing the shop crawls that you’d be hanging with the cool kids just a few years later? But really, if I think about, it’s not surprising. You’re the best!!
